Steak in red wine

Steak in red wine

750 g rump meat
250 ml red wine
2 tsp. garlic salt (or a mixture of crushed garlic and salt)
2 tbsp. dried oregano leaves
crushed black pepper to taste

Cut the meat into large portions, trim off excess fat and veins.

Mix wine, garlic salt, oregano and pepper. Place the steak in a shallow non-metallic dish, pour in the wine mixture, cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

Prepare and heat the barbecue. Grill the steak on a hot grill or barbecue lid for 3-4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness, brushing constantly with the wine mixture.

Cook the steak just before serving.
