Beef stewed with vegetables

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:


1 kg beef


500 g potatoes


500 g onions


300 g carrots


200-300 g tomatoes


5-6 bay leaves


3 tbsp. butter


2-3 cloves of garlic


parsley


pepper, cumin, salt to taste

 

 

Cut the beef into small pieces, add salt, sprinkle with pepper and crushed cumin.

Wash and peel the vegetables. Cut large onions into 2-3 parts, small ones - use whole. Cut carrots and tomatoes into large pieces. Cut the peeled potatoes lengthwise into 2-4 pieces and fry in butter or animal fat.

Place a layer of meat on the bottom of a saucepan with butter, a mixture of carrots, potatoes and onions on it, and again a layer of meat. Pour in 1 glass of hot water, add garlic, bay leaf, tomatoes, pour over melted butter (if desired, butter can be mixed with 1 teaspoon of red pepper), cover with a lid and simmer over moderate heat until tender. The meat will turn out especially tasty; cover the joint of the saucepan with the lid while stewing.

Before serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
